Position Summary
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. This role ensures products meet quality standards while maintaining efficiency and a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or routers in accordance with production schedules and blueprints.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
- Load and align raw materials, secure fixtures, tooling, and workpieces properly.
- Monitor machine operations, adjust settings, and perform basic troubleshooting to maintain product quality.
- Measure finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure operational reliability.
- Record production data such as quantities, time, and any deviations from specifications.
- Follow safety procedures and report potential hazards or equipment issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to meet quality and productivity goals.

High school diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of work experience.Minimum 1-2 years of CNC operation experience (depending on complexity of equipment).CNC lathe experience highly preferred.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and basic math.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to stand / walk frequently during shift.Ability to lift / carry 40-80 pounds occasionally, lift / carry 20-40 pounds frequently.Basic computer skills and familiarity with G-code programming.
