Job Title : Senior Archaeologist / Principal Investigator
Location : Richmond, VA (Multiple locations available : Philadelphia, PA; Fort Washington, PA; Hunt Valley, MD; Richmond, VA; Raleigh, NC; Nashville, TN; Knoxville, TN; Charleston, SC; Columbia, SC; Thomaston, GA; Tampa, FL)
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead Phase I-III archaeological field investigations, ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis.
- Identify and evaluate artifacts and archaeological sites in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.
- Conduct research and analyze historic and prehistoric artifacts.
- Prepare and review archaeological reports, site forms, and project documentation.
- Assist in planning project alternatives and resolving impacts to archaeological resources.
- Collaborate with field staff, lab technicians, managers, and administrative teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet professional standards.
- Contribute to business development efforts through proposals, budgets, and marketing materials.
- Coordinate directly with clients and federal or tribal agencies to maintain project quality, schedule, and budget.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Master's Degree in Anthropology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.Must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Qualification Standards for Archaeologists .Minimum of 8 years of professional archaeological experience, including historic and / or prehistoric projects.Proven experience leading project teams from start to finish.Strong supervisory experience in Phase I-III fieldwork.Ability to provide a writing sample (thesis, dissertation, or archaeological report).Valid driver's license.Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) or eligible to become registered.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcMap, or other GIS platforms.Experience collaborating with federal agencies and tribal nations.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Why Join Us?
