AvevoRx is a home infusion pharmacy specializing in acute care and chronic infusion therapies, working with clients to provide extraordinary care for their patients. We are currently seeking a full time Pharmacist to assist in our Ceres, CA location.
Job Summary :
The Director of Pharmacy Site Operations is responsible and accountable for the performance and operation of the organization and personnel in the preparation of non-sterile and sterile compounds by providing leadership, direction, organization, management, monitoring and compliance of all pharmacy roles, activities, and proceedings to ensure safe, cost effective, and timely processing of client medications and infusion supplies. The employee will manage all aspects of a home infusion pharmacy site and its staff. The employee may be expected to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge for both resident and non-resident pharmacy licenses, unless otherwise delegated, and will manage clinical dispensing operations for all licensed service areas throughout the country. For sterile compounding facilities, the employee will serve as the designated person for oversight and compliance of all USP 797 / 800 rules and regulations, unless otherwise identified. The responsibility of the designated person(s) includes but is not limited to overseeing a training program to ensure competency of personnel including determining when an individual should be excluded from working in compounding area based on risks of contaminating the CSP and the environment. This may include personnel with direct oversight restocking & cleaning personnel, personnel that perform in-process checks, personnel that perform final verification, personnel that are dispensing CSPs, personnel that Compound CSPs, Certifiers / contractors / inspectors / surveyors and personnel that oversee compounding (if a sterile compounding location).
Training Responsibilities & Requirements For Sterile Compounding Facilities :
Director of Pharmacy Site Operations is responsible for all training related to pharmacy operations.
- Designated person can delegate training to an assigned Trainer.
Job Responsibilities / Tasks
Selecting an acceptable and reliable source to obtain non-active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) components when they are not available via an FDA-registered facility.Monitoring and observing compounding activities and taking immediate corrective action if deficient practices are observed. This includes evaluating when individuals should be excluded from working in compounding areas based on the risk of contaminating the CSP and the environment.Ensuring that policies and procedures are fully implemented.Making or approving any change(s) or alternations(s) to policy and procedure.Reviewing and approving all policies and procedures initially and at least every 12 months to ensure they reflect current practices.Ensure that follow-up is carried out if problems, deviations, or errors are identified.Have a process that allows for special accommodations for personnel if the quality of the CSP is maintained and the environment will not be affected.Ensuring that each area related to CSP preparations meets classified air quality standards.Ensure ISO Class 5 areas are located, operated, maintained, monitored, and certified to have appropriate air quality.Review all certification records to ensure that the classified environment meets the minimum requirements of the current, enforceable version of USPEnsuring that filters used for sterilization by filtration are chemically and physically compatible with all ingredients in the CSP, are chemically stable at the temperature and pressure conditions to be used and have enough capacity to filter the required volume.Ensure that the organization has a formal, written quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) program.Have training, experience, responsibility, and authority in quality assurance.Reviews and documents the QA and QC program at least every 12 months.Reviews all complaints to determine whether the complaint indicates a potential quality problem with the CSP.Determines whether a compounded preparation is expected to retain its integrity or quality when temperature excursions occur when compared to USPDetermines what the dynamic operating conditions are in the compounding area that reflect the largest number of personnel and highest complexity of compounding expected during routine operation.Job Specific Requirements :
Direct management of clinical and pharmacy operations, pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy supporting staff personnelEnsure and maintain compliance with all state and federal pharmacy rules and regulationsIndirect management of reimbursement and intake staffResponsible for the management and oversight of the physical site including sterile clean room operations, infusion suite, and office spaceProvide oversight of purchasing and inventory staff as well as proactively manage the site’s inventory of medications, supplies, and equipment.Responsible for ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction and quality including trouble shooting patient issues and proactively participating in the corporate Quality Improvement ProgramMust maintain an active and unrestricted pharmacy license(s) in current state(s) of practice.Job Requirements :

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Standing, walking, and bending for long period of time.Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.Immunizations as required and TB test / screen annually, if providing direct patient care.Must be licensed, able to operate a motor vehicle, and have proof of insurance.Required Qualifications :
Candidate must be a pharmacist, that graduated from an ACPE accredited pharmacy school with a BS in pharmacy or PharmD degree and licensed to practice pharmacy in the resident state of the facility location.Minimum of 3 years of home infusion or specialty infusion experience preferably with management experience.Proven leadership skills will be a key determining factor for qualified candidates.All candidates must pass a federal background check and are subject to drug testing.Strong organizational and time management skills.Strong computer skills, including excel and teams.Ability to commute to Ceres, CA 95307 (Required)Preferred Qualifications :
Management experience.3+ years of experience with CPR+.Experience with maintaining and managing a clean room under USP 797 standards.Bi-lingual (fluent English and Spanish) candidates.Hold multiple state pharmacy licenses, and / or willingness to obtain additional state RPH licenses.
