Part Time, 2 shifts of 12 hours each, rotational days / evenings / nights / weekends / holidays. Must stay through January.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The Med / Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care including telemetry monitoring. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist them in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.

Responsibilities

  • Apply nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care by assessing patient / family needs.
  • Create individualized plans of care and monitor patient progress in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families to promote understanding of care at home and lifestyle changes.
  • Foster mutual trust and cooperation among team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Comply with infection prevention strategies and maintain competencies for specific populations.
  • Promote leadership awareness and positive change within the team.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • NYS RN Licensure Required
  • Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS
  • One (1) year experience serving in a Med / Surg environment as a Registered Nurse preferred.
