Shipping And Receiving Specialist

Job Requirements : Identify and accurately count and pick product as needed to fulfill work orders. Prepare and package shipment. Determine labeling requirements. Post weights and shipping documents as required. Perform computer functions as required. Communicate with various departments to determine shipping requirements. Package and box shipments per customer instructions. Attach labels and packing slips as needed for domestic and international shipping. Bag and package track at least 75% of the time. Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials. Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.

Other Experience and Qualifications : One year of manufacturing related experience in shipping and / or training preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have proficient computer skills.
