Head of Sales

Location : Boston, MA (Hybrid Preferred, Remote Possible)

Compensation : Competitive base + commission + benefits (health, dental, vision)

Travel : ~20% (reduced if strong retail relationships are already in place)

Bandit Sports is a fast-growing, product-obsessed sporting goods company redefining how athletes train and compete. With over 1,000 retail doors (including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Academy, and Scheels) and a strong D2C foundation, we're just getting started. We’ve doubled revenue every year for the past three years — and now we’re looking for a Head of Sales to take us to the next level by building and owning our retail business from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

As the leader of Bandit Sports sales, you’ll be a key growth architect and own the P&L for the entire retail and wholesale business . This is not a maintenance role — it’s a builder’s role. You’ll scale our domestic retail presence, lead international expansion, and build a durable, long-term foundation for Bandit’s retail success.

  • Build and scale Bandit Sports’ retail business across big-box retailers, specialty sporting goods, and large-scale accounts.
  • Own the P&L for retail : forecast revenue, manage margins, negotiate pricing, and hit profitability targets
  • Expand shelf space and SKU count in existing retailers while developing new relationships to open additional doors
  • Manage the full sales cycle , from outreach and sell-in to PO and delivery, in partnership with logistics and operations
  • Create a strong and sustainable retail customer base , focused on lifetime value and long-term brand partnerships
  • Create and launch new meaningful sales channels through team sales, toy distributors, and special projects.
  • Collaborate with product development by channeling retailer feedback into new products and packaging innovation
  • Work with marketing and creative teams to build in-store merchandising, storytelling, and sell-through programs that drive results
  • Hire and lead your own sales team , including internal reps, brokers, or distributors, aligned with your growth plan
  • Develop scalable sales playbooks that guide how we launch, grow, and optimize retail accounts for the long term

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

  • Retail growth delivered : 2–3 new major retailers added; expanded footprint within existing accounts
  • P&L oversight in place : You’ve implemented systems to track and manage retail performance and profitability
  • Repeatable retail playbook established : You’ve created and begun implementing scalable outreach, onboarding, and growth systems
  • Cross-functional momentum : You’re working hand-in-hand with product, marketing, and ops on launches and execution
  • Early wins delivered : At least one major win that proves traction and establishes you as a key driver of growth
  • What You Bring

  • Proven track record growing a sporting goods or adjacent brand from $20M-$50M+ in top line revenue.
  • Deep, active relationships with buyers at major U.S. retailers like Dick’s, Academy, and others
  • Experience owning sales P&L and building sales orgs from scratch
  • Strong operator who thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments
  • Comfortable working across departments to influence product, marketing, and logistics
  • Hands-on approach : you’re not just a strategist — you’re a closer and an executor
  • Startup or early-stage experience is a must — you’ve built, not just maintained
  • Who You Are

  • Hungry : You’re competitive, resilient, and relentlessly focused on winning — for yourself and your team
  • Humble : You put the team first, lead by example, and make those around you better
  • Smart : You solve problems creatively, adapt fast, and think both strategically and tactically
  • (Bonus) : Former athlete or someone who understands performance culture — on the field and in business
  • Additional Details

  • Location : Preference for Boston-based candidates with hybrid flexibility; remote for exceptional talent
  • Travel : ~20%, mostly strategic and relationship-based
  • Compensation : Base salary + commission. Benefits include health, dental, and vision
  • Why Bandit Sports?

We’re not just building a company, we’re building a generational sporting goods brand with a 100 year product line.  With 4 patent pending products in our first 18 months, bold brand position, and a loyal customer base, Bandit is uniquely positioned to become the next great American sporting goods brand. If you're ready to take full ownership of a sales engine in hyper-growth mode and want to be part of a small, elite team...this is your shot.

    Let’s Grow.
