Responsibilities :
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management systems to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Ensure the rights and dignity of residents are respected and upheld at all times
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents
- Document and report any significant changes in residents' behavior or health to the appropriate supervisor
- Drive residents to appointments, outings, and community activities
Skills :
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for individuals' needs and preferences
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to lift and assist with transferring residents as needed
- Fluent in English, able to read, write and communicate in English
