Qualified Signal Maintainer
Our company is currently hiring Signals and Communications Maintainers across Canada for full-time field-based work. While our priority is signal-qualified maintainers with hands-on experience, were also open to considering apprentices who have completed formal S&C training and are field-ready .
All candidates must be eligible to work on CPKC property.
Work cycles vary depending on client needs. Typically 8 days on / 6 days off or 7 days on / 7 days off
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of two (2) years of Signals & Communications experience
- Experience in crossing deactivations
- Ability to pass eRailSafe (background check)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License with Abstract
- Must be willing to travel across Canada
- Must be willing to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing (safety sensitive position)
- Hold a valid signal maintainer certificate (CN ATP, CP, or equivalent)
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad S&C equipmentRegulatory testing of S&C equipment (weekly, monthly, semi-annually, etc.)Utilize testing equipment and softwareLead a crew as acting foreman (up to 6 other employees)TimekeepingMaintain documents, records, and reports as requiredOperate Hi-rail vehiclesOperate various power toolsProvide daily updates to the field managerOther duties as assignedWhat We Offer
