About The Position

Certifications :

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC or TCAR

Must-Have :

Experience with the care of trauma patients.

Ability to calculate and titrate drips as typical in an ICU.

Understanding of patient monitoring and the ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Coachability, motivation, ability to understand and navigate unsafe situations, and teamwork.

Description :

This role requires work in an Intensive Care Unit.

The nurse-patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 depending on patient acuity.

Common patient diagnoses include DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, and cardiac issues.

RNs are responsible for titrating drips and managing various intravenous medications.

Nursing staff will primarily manage patients without the assistance of nurse aids or patient care techs.

Registered Nurses will work with respiratory therapy equipment and must perform troubleshooting as needed.

There is no charge nurse on each shift, with the emergency department in charge of ICU operations.

Weekend and holiday work is expected based on unit needs.

Floating to medical or emergency services may occur for 1 : 1 patient care assignments.

All nursing staff are required to adhere to specific grooming standards, especially regarding facial hair, for safety compliance.
