Position Overview :
The Mechanical Technician I (MT I) plays a critical role in supporting Mikron’s Customer Service team by providing technical expertise and hands-on mechanical support. This position involves assembling, debugging, and calibrating customer service projects while ensuring system performance and reliability. The MT I also assists with machine upgrades, installations, and mechanical training to help optimize production efficiency and yield.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide mechanical support to Customer Service teams including Applications, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Support.
- Assemble and install mechanical components according to engineering designs and company standards.
- Support installation and setup of customer service projects at client sites.
- Align and calibrate machines, conveyors, and stations for optimal performance.
- Perform wiring and plumbing tasks per company specifications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and fine-tune equipment during testing phases.
- Propose mechanical improvements in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Install and adjust cams, safety guarding, and related equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality while managing responsibilities across multiple customer locations.
- Respond promptly to customer requests (within 24 hours for standard issues, within 1 hour for critical downtime).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Customer Service Mechanical Technician Supervisor or Customer Service Manager.
Required Qualifications :
1–2 years of mechanical technician or related experience.Experience with prototype machine assembly and pneumatic systems.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Capable of working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.Willingness to travel up to 75% of the year and work overtime (up to 50%), sometimes on short notice.Must have a valid driver’s license and personal credit card for travel expenses.Eligible to work in the United States and available to work off-shifts or holidays as needed.Benefits :
