Essential Functions
- Present a professional image to all employees, members, and the public.
- Wear lanyard with nametag and adhere to dress code standards.
- Greet members, potential members and staff in a courteous, professional and friendly manner, striving for excellence.
- Be enthusiastic towards members by learning their names and expressing an interest in their YMCA activities. Make sure no member is left unattended.
- Respond to members' needs. Contact appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Direct complaints in a courteous manner.
- Follow proper procedures for group memberships, nationwide membership and guests who come in to use the facility by properly checking them in at the Welcome Center desk.
- Deliver cause-driven tours for prospective members.
- Promote membership and program enrollment and volunteer opportunities.
- Enhance the athletic skills and abilities of young athletes through quality coaching, training sessions, and competitive opportunities.
- Instill important values such as teamwork, discipline, perseverance, healthy living and sportsmanship in young athletes through participation in organized sports.
- Engage with the local community by providing youth sports programs that promote physical activity, healthy competition, and positive youth development.
- Encourage parental involvement and support by providing opportunities for parents to volunteer and attend games.
- Enforce Y rules and conduct throughout the Y.
- Follow volunteer protocols and procedures.
- Maintain sufficient verbal, written, and digital communication with team members and supervising staff.
- Attend all staff meetings and in-service training.
- All other duties assigned by management.
Specific Job Duties
Maintain Inventory of sports equipment.Maintain equipment and wellness areas to keep them organized and clean.Monitor equipment for any mechanical issues and coordinate service as needed.Develop and create relevant youth programming and sports clinics.Create Programs in Daxko.Create rosters and schedules for participants.Monitor payment from registrants in Daxko.Communicate cancelations and program changes to participants, staff and volunteers.Track program attendance.Develop detailed plans for each sport program.Run programs in direct-service including after school programming, youth programs, swim lessons, and others.Provide training and support for volunteers and staff.Promote youth sports through marketing and school outreach.Coordinate off-site programing with city officials following required protocols.Coordinate with the marketing department for advertisement of programs.Coordinate getting referees when needed.Responsible for management of volunteers though Volunteer Matters.Responsible for managing GameChanger.Create and market relevant, cutting-edge Group Exercise classes.Participate in tabling events as directed.Equipment and Software
Daxko Operations Membership Software.Various computer applications on both Windows and iOS operating systems.ADP for personal and operational timecard management.Microsoft Office 365 – Outlook, OneDrive, Excel Teams etc.Volunteer Matters and GameChanger software.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in sports related field preferred.One year of sports programming is required.CRP / AED & First-Aid certifications required (within 3 months of start date)Ability to communicate and get along with people of diverse backgrounds is required.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
