Warehouse Worker - Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift

Position Summary : Penske Logistics is looking for experienced Forklift Operators to join our excellent team! The position operates forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within the warehouse environment. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.Why is Penske Logistics for you?We take pride in offering a competitive wage and great benefits including : Base Rate : $19.11 / HRShift Differential : $1 / HRShift Time : Monday-Friday (6 : 45 PM-4 : 00 AM,plus daily overtime)Additional Benefits : Paid Time OffMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife Insurance401KAssociate Referral ProgramOur associates also enjoy numerous associate discounts and opportunities to grow with the organization!Job Responsibilities : Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needsReads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributedAccurately match numbers & lettersAccurately stage and sort products for loadingLoads and unloads trailersOpens and closes dock doorsMaintain a clean and safe work areaSorts and places parts in racks or other designated areasPulling of manual dock chainStacks cardboard boxes and palletsMove materials within the warehouseComplies with all safety requirementsPackage or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)Electronically scan products using a warehouse management systemQuality control, maintains inventory recordsEnsure damaged products are identified and removed when receivedComplete daily logsCommunicate with associates from other shiftsAttach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying informationRecord numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work ticketsAssemble product containers and crates, using hand tools and precut lumberPack containers and re-pack damaged containersSorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated roomsFills requisitions, work orders, or requests for distributionAssembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping departmentWeighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standardsUses computer to enter recordsOther projects and tasks as assigned by supervisorQualifications : General Forklift, Clamp Truck, Cherry Picker, Clamp Truck or Reach Truck experience highly preferredNo prior warehouse experience required but preferred.High school diploma or equivalent preferredProficient reading skills and ability to follow directions requiredAbility to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills requiredFlexible to work overtime preferredAbility to work in non-climate-controlled conditions requiredRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the jobAbility to work independently, customer service, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, and time management skills requiredWillingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location requiredComplete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
