The Seasonal Landscape positions supports grounds maintenance activities that keep preserves and facilities safe, clean, and welcoming. As a part of the Planning and Development team, this position has a unique task in maintaining the landfill locations of the Forest Preserve. This role includes operating equipment, maintaining outdoor spaces, and assisting with preservation-focused landscaping practices

What You'll Do

• Safely operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment including mowers, trimmers, and other power and hand tools.
• Perform routine grounds care such as mowing, trimming, weeding, litter removal, and edging.
• Assist with landscape enhancement tasks including soil and compost installation.
• Maintain facility and site cleanliness, including garbage collection and gutter clearing.
• Support daily opening and closing procedures at assigned sites.
• Follow all safety guidelines and help maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused workplace.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support grounds operations.
