The incumbent to this position serves as the sole Administrative Assistant to the Regional Administrator. Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION : Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties : Serves as confidential executive secretary to the Regional Administrator. Maintains all records and files for the Regional Administrator in a manageable system. Provides administrative support to the entire Management team. Review, edit and prepare letters, memorandums, reports, agreements and email on behalf of the Regional Administrator. Schedule and coordinate meetings and conference calls while maintain electronic calendar with meetings, logistics, and necessary background information. Provides functional supervision and / or project supervision over support staff within the regions, as needed. Assists with making travel arrangements for the Management Team that may include hotel reservations, flight accommodations, car rentals, etc. May serve as the Database Manager for Emergency Preparedness in the Lafayette Region, or as the backup for the Database Manager, and maintains a state of readiness to report when disasters occur. Position-Specific Details : Appointment Type : This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee. Work Schedule : Typically, work hours are 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm, Monday Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
