Assistant Attorney General - Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor

Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and case support to prosecutors in the state for DUII prosecutions at any stage.
- Develop and maintain a statewide resource for DUII case law, expand the existing motion bank, expert witness materials and other DUII resource materials.
- Provide information on DUII law via the DUII list serve and the DUII section of the Oregon District Attorney Resource Network (ODARN) website.
- Work on DUII publications.
- Assess the types of assistance requests received and use that information to determine needs for additional resource materials, trainings and other needs for successful prosecution.
- Present at and assist with DUII-related trainings.
- Coordinate with other Oregon and national programs dedicated to combating traffic-related crime including the Governor's office and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Qualifications
Active member of the Oregon State Bar in good standing on the effective date of appointment.Five or more years practicing law as an attorney.Demonstrated knowledge of criminal and evidence codes.Demonstrated ability to work well with people from a variety of disciplines (state agency personnel, law enforcement officers, county prosecutors, etc.).Excellent organization, analytical, oral presentation and advocacy, and writing skills.Experience training prosecutors and / or law enforcement.Willing and able to travel throughout the state and nation, sometimes overnight, in order to meet case, training, and outreach needs.Strong work ethic and commitment to public service.Able to successfully clear a comprehensive criminal background investigation and reference checks.Requested Experience (Optional)
