Description
Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to advance your career in electrical engineering? Asplundh Electrical Testing (AET) is seeking highly skilled and motivated Relay Technicians and Field Engineers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical and engineering support during fieldwork, as well as preparing internal and client reports.
Note : This opportunity requires extended travel primarily in the mid-West and Northeast. Company vehicle, lodging, and meal stipend are provided.
Responsibilities
- Install, adjust, and troubleshoot relays with technical capabilities
- Support the sales effort by assisting with labor estimates and job walks
- Remain up-to-date with all safety and technical training; attend company-sponsored safety training when required
- Collect field data and perform arc flash studies, coordination studies, and short circuit analysis
- Provide technical insight concerning substation systems and electrical power systems
- Adhere to all safety protocols and standards to ensure a 'Safety First' environment
- Install, troubleshoot, commission, test, and maintain protective relaying equipment
- Calibrate and perform functional tests on microprocessor-based protective relays for high-voltage substations
- Conduct relay testing using Doble ProTest software or Protection Suite
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or olderProfessional skills in protective relay logic, protection schemes, and documentation of test plansKnowledge of Doble ProTest or Protection SuiteExcellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and customer serviceNETA certification is strongly encouragedEducation & Experience
Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience with protective relays in high-voltage substationsExperience with circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and similar equipmentTwo-year degree or technical school graduate, or relevant field experienceBenefits
