Job Description
We're seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Technician to support a high-reliability clinical environment serving a diverse patient population. You'll perform high-quality specimen collections, maintain strict chain-of-custody and privacy standards, and deliver great patient care while working closely with clinicians and lab staff.
What You'll Do
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections; provide clear instructions for urine and culture specimens
- Verify patient identity, label specimens accurately, and ensure proper handling / transport per SOP & CLIA
- Enter demographics / orders in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) ; generate labels and query results
- Follow Universal Blood & Body Fluid Precautions and all safety / industry protocols
- Monitor supplies; communicate material needs and assist with evaluating phlebotomy devices
- Schedule appointments as needed; greet / process lab patients and assist with phones
- Build effective working relationships with patients, clinicians, and lab staff
Minimum Qualifications
MediClear or equivalent HIPAA certification (required)High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a NAACLS-accredited or two-part phlebotomy program (preferred)National certification : PBT-ASCP or RPT-AMT (preferred)
