As a High-Volume Cardiac Telemetry Nurse, you will be working under the guidance of the Nurse Manager / Clinical Coordinator. Your role as a Registered Nurse (RN) involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising patient care tailored to individual needs, adhering to our unit policies and procedures. You will also oversee non-RN staff, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth continuity of care across nursing units as required. Other responsibilities will be assigned to maintain high service standards.
Responsibilities
- Continuously assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions throughout their care journey.
- Create, communicate, and document personalized care plans addressing specific patient issues and interventions to achieve optimal outcomes, collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Implement and coordinate care plans in partnership with the healthcare team.
- Evaluate care effectiveness, assessing patient responses, readiness for discharge, and modify plans as necessary.
- Identify educational needs of patients and families; provide tailored educational opportunities and document results.
- Act as a preceptor for new staff members.
- Take on the role of Charge Nurse when necessary.
- Meet performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, resource management, and personal development as described in performance reviews.
- Safeguard operational efficiency by undertaking additional tasks as assigned or required.
- Demonstrate competency in neuro patient care and related assessments.
- Exhibit skills in managing airway care for neuro patients.
- Support physicians during specialized neuro procedures and provide patient care.
- Participate in the 'TIA' teaching program, enhancing patient education.
- Perform suctioning procedures (pharyngeal, endotracheal, tracheostomy) following established guidelines.
- Understand and use equipment related to halo brace care effectively.
- Fulfill nursing responsibilities for ventilator-dependent patients.
Qualifications
Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. Proven ability in using computer software, including electronic patient records, and conducting internet-based research for patient care.
Experience : No prior experience required.
Licensure : Valid Registered Nurse License in Connecticut.
Special Skills : BLS certification required.
