Job description

Join Cox Automotive as a Senior Cloud Security Architect, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our cybersecurity landscape. In this position, you’ll define the principles, standards, and design patterns that ensure our products and enterprise tools are secure across multi-cloud and on-premises environments. Collaborating with fellow cybersecurity professionals, you will focus on securing multi-cloud infrastructure and services while also addressing network and application security.

As a leader in cybersecurity architecture, you will leverage your extensive experience to construct secure infrastructures and services. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be paramount as you advocate for and establish robust cybersecurity guidelines for product and engineering teams. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity Architecture, you will be at the forefront of our security initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Recommend and identify relevant cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and guardrails.
  • Lead working groups to define cybersecurity guidelines across product and enterprise architecture.
  • Develop secure design patterns collaboratively with the product and enterprise architecture team.
  • Contribute to the creation of architecture-related governance patterns, policies, and standards.
  • Analyze potential risks to information systems and recommend innovative security solutions.
  • Work with technical and development teams to streamline scalable release processes.
  • Engage with business and engineering teams to establish cybersecurity guardrails for secure design adoption.
  • Participate in security events and incident responses to identify and mitigate design gaps.
  • Research and evaluate emerging security trends and technologies to recommend enhancements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure security considerations are integrated into decision-making.
  • Work with cybersecurity peers to unify vulnerability management, risk governance, and compliance into the organization.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 8 years of experience, or a master's degree with 6 years of experience, a Ph.D. with 3 years, or 12 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of focused experience in cybersecurity.
  • Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and on-premises security practices.
  • Ability to communicate cybersecurity policies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative attitude to develop productive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to evaluate risks and recommend actions based on business impact.
  • Knowledge of current cybersecurity architectures, including zero trust and SaaS methodologies.
  • Creative problem-solving skills for complex cybersecurity challenges.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Proven track record of implementing solutions in Fortune 1000 companies.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and relevant regulations.
  • Experience with AI collaboration to enhance architectural artifacts and governance.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience developing cybersecurity standards for cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Knowledge in application security, network security, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Understanding of IAM, cryptography, and security protocols.
  • Recent experience with application security and related methodologies.
  • Technical expertise in programming languages and frameworks such as Python, .NET, and Java.
  • Experience with firewalls and edge services with an understanding of DMZ architectures.
  • Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience developing strategies for cloud solutions across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Strong understanding of cloud containers and serverless platforms.
  • Experience from big four consulting firms or Fortune 500 companies.
  • Relevant industry certifications like CISSP, CEH, or AWS certification.
  • Compensation : The base salary ranges from $144,900.00 to $241,500.00 per year, depending on factors such as location and individual qualifications. Additional compensation may include incentive programs.
