The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) provides professional mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. The role involves conducting psychological assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering therapy sessions, and helping clients address mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The LPC works within ethical and legal standards to promote psychological well-being and personal development while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Assessment and Diagnosis : Ability to conduct psychological assessments, intake evaluations, and diagnose mental health disorders using DSM-5 or ICD-10 criteria.
Treatment Planning : Competence in developing individualized, measurable, and goal-oriented treatment plans.
Crisis Intervention : Ability to respond effectively to clients in crisis situations, including suicidal ideation, self-harm, or acute stress.
Case Management : Knowledge of community resources and ability to coordinate care among providers, social workers, and families.
