Position Title : DIR Player
Pay Range : $19 – $30 per hour (based on experience)
Reports To : Clinical Supervisor / Program Director
Position Summary :
The DIR Player works directly with children in their natural environment (home or community) to implement play-based therapeutic interventions using the DIR / Floortime® model. The goal is to support each child’s individual developmental needs while promoting engagement, communication, problem-solving, and social-emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities :
Engage the child in individualized play sessions following the DIR / Floortime® principles.
Foster relationships that encourage social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation.
Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, and family members to align strategies and goals.
Collect session notes and data accurately and submit them within required timelines.
Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment during all sessions.
Attend team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions as required.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Child Development) preferred.
Prior experience working with children, particularly those with developmental differences, strongly preferred either as a behavioral technician or as a player.
Familiarity with DIR / Floortime® or willingness to be trained.
Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while following supervision guidelines.
Schedule & Work Environment :
Part-time or full-time opportunities available.
Sessions typically occur in-home or community settings; travel between client locations may be required.
Flexible scheduling based on client needs.
Compensation :
$19 – $30 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and training.
Paid training provided.
