Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with charge and scrub experience, current in a large OR, holding a NM or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a large hospital operating room (OR) setting
  • Minimum two years of recent OR experience required
  • Must have experience as charge nurse and be able to scrub
  • 12-hour varied shifts, 3 days per week
  • Floating to other departments or local locations within 20 miles required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
  • Responsible for charge nurse duties and providing direct patient care in the OR
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and timely surgical patient care
  • Document patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses per policy
  • Must complete patient population, procedure, and protocol education and competency
  • Orientation and Epic EMR training available on-site if required

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by NM or compact state
  • Current BLS certification required; must be from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Minimum two years of recent large OR experience required
  • Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
  • Ortho, EENT, and / or vascular experience is a plus
  • PALS and ACLS preferred
  • Must be a team player, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • No local candidates; must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
  • Former perm staff must wait one year before being reconsidered for a traveler role
