Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Educator Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 20 / 2025 Duration : 11 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Diabetes Nurse Educator for a travel assignment. This role involves providing comprehensive diabetes education and management to pediatric patients and their families, working collaboratively with endocrinology providers, nursing staff, and the broader care team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient education, diabetes management, and empowering families to successfully manage pediatric diabetes at home and in the community. Key Responsibilities Maintain an independent daily schedule of at least 5 patient visits per day for diabetes management and education Provide comprehensive diabetes education including : disease understanding, insulin management, glucose monitoring, nutrition, physical activity, and diabetes technologies (e.g., insulin pumps, CGMs) Conduct patient visits to assess self-management skills, identify barriers, and reinforce care plans Collaborate closely with endocrinologists, nurse practitioners, dietitians, and clinic staff to ensure high-quality, coordinated care Assist families in developing individualized care strategies for home, school, and activities Support patients and families with insurance, durable medical equipment, and prescription needs Provide follow-up communication outside of clinic visits to address questions or urgent issues Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (Epic) in compliance with ADA, CMS, and institutional guidelines Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and continuing education Serve as a resource for staff education and training on pediatric diabetes care standards About Protouch Staffing Protouch Staffing stands out as a premier healthcare staffing agency in the USA, committed to pairing healthcare workers with positions that perfectly match their qualifications, experiences, and career aspirations.
