Job description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Adjunct Instructor, Carpentry / Construction provides quality learning experiences, facilitatesand evaluates the learning process, advises students, participates in professional development opportunities, and contributes to the development of curriculum courses / programs. The adjunct instructor will also ensure the Construction lab space is kept safe, clean, and organized.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required :

  • Building Construction Diploma or equivalent in related field or NC General Contractor License or NCCER Carpentry or Construction Related Certifications
  • 3 years of Industry Experience

Preferred :

  • Associate degree in Building Construction Technology, Carpentry or related field
  • Prior teaching experience

    • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Teach program material via seated and online classes as required by the schedule.
  • Learn new material to keep up with changing technology.
  • Facilitate regular and substantive interaction via proactive communication with students.
  • Ensure classrooms, labs, and lab equipment are in good repair and maintain a safe environment for students and employees.
  • Serve as a mentor to students in your area of expertise.
