Job Description

As a Security Professional Armed Retail Patrol in Lexington, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. Your visible presence and commitment to customer service will contribute to a positive experience for guests and staff. This role requires you to carry a concealed weapon while conducting routine patrols and responding to situations as needed. What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate communication and de-escalation techniques.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter theft, vandalism, and / or other unwanted activity within the retail environment.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and / or emergency responders as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to staff and patrons in the retail location.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Must have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and / or military experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
