Procedure Scheduler (Gastroenterology), full time, days

Gastroenterology Coordinator

Works closely with clinical and clerical staff as well as appropriate vendors in coordinating logistics related to scheduling surgeries, imaging, and other procedures. Is the main contact for patients in providing education regarding their planned procedures. Obtains pre-authorizations for all procedures and provides cost estimate for services.

Job Type : Full Time (80 hours every two weeks)

Shift Length : Mon-Th (8a-4 : 30p) Fri (8a-4p)

Wage Range : $16.39-$22.95

Education Requirements :

• High school diploma / GED, or higher education
• Associates degree or Medical Assistant preferred
• Previous experience working in a physician specialist office and discussing payment arrangements with patients required
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to multi-task required
• Ability to read and write consistent with job requirements required
• General working knowledge of, and ability to use, office machines, including computers, required
• Experience managing large number of incoming phone calls preferred
