Duties & Responsibilities :
Responsible for the successful delivery of one or more interrelated projects within a federal or defense contract. The role is a strategic leader responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing complex government programs, team leadership, customer satisfaction, and delivery of high-quality compliant performanceensuring alignment with federal mission goals, technical delivery, and contractual performance. The Director ensures integration across functional domainstechnical execution, stakeholder engagement, compliance, budget controland acts as the primary liaison between Navaide and government contracting officers (KOs), CORs, and program sponsors.
Skills & Experience :
- 10+ years of experience managing complex federal or defense programs.
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale contracts.
- Strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations and program lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated success in client-facing roles with government stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
Key Responsibilities :
Program Leadership & Oversight : Lead full lifecycle execution of government programs-from kickoff through delivery and closeout; and define program objectives in alignment with contract scope and mission outcomes.Project and Team Management : Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance oversight for project managers, team leads, and cross-functional delivery staff, including technical leads, analysts, developers, and subcontractors; manage performance using Agile, hybrid, or traditional (e.g., SAFe, PMBOK, or DoD 5000 aligned) delivery frameworks.Contract Compliance & Documentation : Ensure compliance with FAR / DFARS regulations and task order terms (e.g., Seaport-NxG); maintain key deliverables : Project Management Plan (PMP), risk register, quality control plan; and oversee CPAR preparation inputs; support contract modifications when necessary.Schedule & Financial Control : Develop and manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using MS Project or equivalent tools and track burn rates; monitor CLIN funding levels via Unanet or financial systems.Stakeholder Engagement : Interface regularly with CORs / KOs / Government PMs to report status and resolve issues and facilitate executive briefings for SES / O6-level stakeholders across Naval commands.Risk Management : Identify technical / operational risks early; maintain mitigation plans throughout project lifecycle and escalate critical blockers promptly while proposing resolution paths.Security Clearance :
Candidates must possess, or be eligible to receive, US DoD Security Clearance.
Travel :
Candidates must be willing to travel approx. 25% within the continental United States of America.
Education :
Bachelor's degree required.
