JOB TITLE : Sports Nightly Anchor / MMJ

Job Summary The Sports Nightly Anchor / MMJ is responsible for all facets of sportscast production including writing, editing, and reporting for BCSN’s flagship nightly sportscast, as well as the regional sports network’s digital and social media platforms.
From stacking a nightly 30 minute newscast to enterprising and producing feature storytelling for multi-platforms, the Sports Nightly Anchor / MMJ is a proven self-starter and team player who thrives in the high-energy, fast paced culture of sports journalism.
An experienced storyteller, the Sports Nightly Anchor / MMJ is tasked with all facets of managing the concept-to-broadcast sports news gathering process, from asset assignment to nightly show debriefs.
The Sports Nightly Anchor / MMJ reports to the BCSN Market Manager.
There are no direct reports for this position.
Performing any miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Bachelor degree in Communications or other relevant field - Preferred
2 Years of experience producing, editing and feature story writing – Required
2 Years of experience working in sports / news environment – Required
Experience with Newsroom Production Systems like ENPS or iNews – Required
Working Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and codecs for web video – Preferred

Physical Demands May include walking, kneeling, standing, stooping, sitting, driving, hearing, talking, vision (close, distant, color, depth perception, adjust focus), and use of hands and fingers. Light lifting of 20 lbs. is occasionally needed.
Working Conditions The Sports Nightly Anchor / MMJ is a full time, 3pm- 11pm, salaried / exempt position. The regular work may vary to accommodate the needs of the department and includes weekends and / or holidays.
The Sports Nightly Anchor / MMJ works in a television news gathering, newsroom, studio environment.
The Sports Nightly Anchor / MMJ is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. He / she must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets Company standards for an insurable driver at all times. Any time these conditions are not met, he / she must not drive on the job and must immediately report it to their supervisor.
