Job description

CAE Durability NVH Optimization Engineer

This role is open to all levels of experience. Your exact job level (Engineer, Sr. Engineer, Tech Specialist, etc.) will be defined by the experience and technical ability you have. However, this role and team will be a mixture of different experience levels all working together to make groundbreaking products with amazing innovation. The Engineer will support analysis activities throughout the product development lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work on some of the exciting products.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform Durability and Fatigue analysis using road load data. Perform strength, stiffness, PSD, Durability and fatigue analysis on chassis, closures and BIW.
  • Build, refine and characterize Full vehicle simulation models (CAE), including Finite Element (FE), Statistical Energy (SEA) and Supplement models to identify opportunities for NVH performance.
  • Experience working with any industry standard optimization tools like Altair hyperstudy, Simulia Isight, Simcenter HEEDS.
  • Perform correlation between test and CAE. Maintain traceable documentation for all durability analysis and test work.
  • Able to learn and use Hyperworks, OptiStruct, Hyperstudy, nCode Design Life, ANSA, MetaPost, and other Altair products.
  • Test and benchmark new analysis tools and techniques.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering or a similar field.
  • Background in durability, NVH and structural optimization is a big plus.
  • Good fundamental knowledge of structures and mechanics of materials.
  • Proficiency in using ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView, MetaPost, nCode, OptiStruct.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle performance targets.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Engineering or Ph.D.
  • Experience with OEM product development for durability, NVH, structural optimization.
  • Understanding various chassis and body components.
