Senior Data Governance Analyst

This position is in the office five days a week and can sit at either our Nashville, TN office or our Birmingham, AL office.

Summary : We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Governance Analyst to help drive our enterprise data governance strategy in alignment with the FirstBank Data Management Strategy, the EDM Council's DCAM framework, and other industry's best practices. This role will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance processes, policies, and metrics that ensure data is accurate, consistent, secure, and trusted across the organization.

The role is a hybrid of business, risk management governance and technical skills with a primary focus on data stewardship, data knowledge, quality, and proper utilization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Support the enterprise data governance program capabilities related to governance structure, data quality, metadata, and data ownership.
• Assist with the definition and maintenance of data policies, standards, and guidelines in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
• Partner with data stewards, business SMEs, and IT to catalog critical data elements (CDEs), establish ownership, and document metadata.
• Facilitate the data issue management process, including triaging, tracking, and resolution.
• Conduct data quality assessments and support the development of rules and metrics to measure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Assist in lineage mapping and metadata capture to improve transparency and data trust.
• Contribute to risk and regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring data practices support privacy, security, and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize data governance initiatives and support adoption through training, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to identify and build program metrics to track program progress.
• Participate in periodic DCAM self-assessments and maturity evaluations to identify gaps and track progress.
