Geriatric Nursing Assistant- (PRN)

Location : Baltimore, MD, 21234

Employment Type : PRN

Pay Rate : $12 - $16 / hr; (Negotiable based on experience)

Shifts Available : 8-hr Shifts

  • 7 : 00 AM 3 : 00 PM
  • 3 : 00 PM 11 : 00 PM
  • 11 : 00 PM 7 : 00 AM

Position Summary :

The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides high-quality, compassionate care and assistance to elderly residents in accordance with care plans and facility policies. The GNA supports the nursing staff by ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and well-being while maintaining a clean and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide daily personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Assist residents with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
  • Measure and record vital signs, intake / output, and report significant changes to nursing staff.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents.
  • Assist in restorative and rehabilitative care as directed.
  • Support residents' emotional and social needs through respectful communication and companionship.
  • Document care and observations accurately in residents' records.
  • Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the charge nurse or supervisor.

    • Required Qualifications :

  • Valid Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification .
  • Current CPR / First Aid certification .
  • Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
