Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage projects with a focus on budgeting, scheduling, and coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in HVAC and Building Automation Systems. This role requires a proactive approach to managing project phases, ensuring financial health, and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
- Understand and manage project budgets, maintaining real-time awareness of budget status.
- Prepare formal monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports for all assigned projects.
- Conduct variance analyses and implement corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve budget performance.
- Align team members with the project schedule and drive progress proactively.
- Plan manpower needs and coordinate with internal resource management.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using tools like MS Project.
- Document delays, scope changes, and other factors impacting timelines.
- Create and manage schedules of values that support positive cash flow.
- Track receivables and ensure timely payments by resolving any project-related issues.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals in alignment with project budgets.
- Negotiate favorable terms and ensure contracts are executed properly.
- Conduct site visits and hold weekly progress meetings to oversee subcontractor performance.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Organize project documentation according to company standards.
- Manage change orders for client / trade-driven changes and company-driven changes.
- Mentor team members on best practices for proposing and closing change orders.
Essential Skills :
Minimum of 4 years experience in Project Management.2+ years experience in Building Automation and HVAC controls.Ability to understand project budgets and stay actively engaged with actual versus estimated.Strong problem solving, planning, and project management skills.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated knowledge of project financial reporting.Additional Skills & Qualifications :
AA / AS degree or 3+ years experience in Project Management.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite : Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Access.Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade.Ability to lift items up to 20lbs.Prior experience in Construction, HVAC, and / or Building Automation preferred.Work Environment :
This role requires a presence both in the office and on project sites, with a roughly 50 / 50 split. Travel will be primarily to sites within 100-150 miles, with minimal overnight travel required. The Project Manager will be responsible for driving their own vehicle, with mileage reimbursement provided and future eligibility for a company vehicle.

Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $52.88 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
