Intelligence Operations Specialist

This Intelligence Operations Specialist position, located in the J2, Intelligence and Security function of the Joint Forces Headquarters-State (JFHQ-ST) and part of the CA JFHQ G3, is a T32 Excepted Service, Permanent Position. The primary purpose of the Intelligence Operations Specialist, GS-0132-11, is to perform specialized duties and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with operational intelligence. Provides detailed intelligence analysis for mission planning and execution, training exercises, briefings and debriefings for the state Joint Senior staff, subordinate units and members. Serves as a subject matter expert for intelligence systems, order of battle maintenance, mission planning, threat analysis, and Geo-spatial Intelligence and Systems (GI&S) support. In addition, the incumbent performs complex intelligence analysis of economic, geographic, political, military topics and threats that could impact the JFHQ-ST mission success. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.

California National Guard Membership is required : This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Priority Areas of Consideration : Priority consideration is first given to the areas below :

• Area I : Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent / Indefinite / Temporary appointment.
• Area II : Current California National Guard members.
• Area III : Current military members of the Air Force / Army National Guard, Air Force / Army Reserve or Air Force / Army Active Duty.

Military Grades : E-5 through E-9, or O-1 through O-3, or Warrant Officer Candidate / Eligible, WO-1 through WO-3. Warrant Officer Candidates must have received an acceptance letter or an official order confirming eligibility.

PCS Relocation Costs is not authorized based on the determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Security Clearance : at a minimum a National Agency Check is required.

Qualifications :

General Experience : Possess experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts; Experience preparing clear and concise written reports.

Intelligence Operations Specialist, GS-0132-11 : Must have at least 36 months experience developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations; Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others; Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.
