Job description

A locum tenens opportunity is available for an Endocrinologist who will join an established outpatient clinic in Fredericksburg, VA. The role involves managing a 100% adult patient population and provides an existing panel of patients with an experienced support staff. The position includes a consistent schedule, Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, and might require call coverage every 3-4 months, as discussed during the interview.

Job Responsibilities

Analyze, examine, and investigate patients' medical histories for signs of hormonal imbalances.

Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.

Discuss diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and preventative measures with patients.

Conduct follow-up appointments to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Support patients with complex endocrine conditions.

Perform research and studies on the endocrine system to develop new treatment techniques.

Remain updated on current trends and discoveries in endocrinology.

Qualifications

Medical Degree (MD or DO)

Board Certified or Eligible in Endocrinology

Skilled in managing Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes patients, including insulin pump management

Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and researching skills

Proficient with computers and medical equipment

Working Hours

Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM

Skills

Strong analytical abilities for accurate diagnoses

Proficiency in research

Ability to provide education on nutrition and diabetes management

Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and family support
