Job Summary :

The Department of Sociology in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with expertise in the field of Criminology. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. The first year Distribution of Effort will be 45% Teaching, 45% Research, and 10% Departmental service. This successful candidate will teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels across the sociology curriculum, including general sociology and criminology courses. A PhD in Sociology or a related field is required. Candidates should have a Ph.D. by August 1, 2026. The teaching statement should present the applicant’s teaching philosophy and pedagogical approaches and identify specific courses the applicant has taught or is prepared to teach.
