About this role :

Fulltime Hospitalist (days)

Physician created schedule allowing time off flexibility

Average patient census per day is 13-15

9 daytime rounders

This medical facility is a referral center for trauma and emergency services and houses medical surgical units, a 34-bed closed ICU, a 42-bed emergency department, and 8 operating rooms.

Position Highlights :

1 : 1 Hospitalist to Nurse Coordinator.  Dedicated nurse coordinator for rounding, interdisciplinary care coordination, discharging patients, family phone call updates, etc.

Collaborative team approach to patient care.  Monthly team meetings to review best practice

Clinical council to discuss group needs, policies, barriers

Strong Medical Directors leadership / support

Night shifts covered by nocturnist team

What you’ll bring :

MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine

Residency training Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one

Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing / privileging process

Current BLS Certification is required before the first day of employment

Life in the Mountain West

Physical Requirements :

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess patient needs at a physician level caregiver.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, etc.
