Our large pharmaceutical clients is seeking a Scientist for Protein Biophysical Analysis to join their growing Binding Group in Spring House, PA. This team focuses on the development and application of preclinical assays in support of the discovery of therapeutic candidates. This individual will be responsible for the application of technologies for biophysical and biochemical characterization and is responsible for implementing methods for affinity analysis. The scientist works under minimal supervision exercising autonomy. Other responsibilities include :
- Kinetics and affinity analysis of antigens and antibodies using SPR, BLI and KinExA.
- Perform HPLC analyses to assess the hydrophobicity, size, and purity of proteins.
- Characterization of molecules using mass spectrometry (MS).
- Data analysis, Documentation, and reporting – ELNs, LIMS etc.,
- Lab instrument maintenance – cleaning spray sources and calibration weekly, prepping calibration solutions.
- Support assay development, validation, and bioanalysis efforts, as needed.
- Assist in drafting and executing peer reviewed posters, manuscripts, tech reports and patent filings.
Qualifications :
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field of studyExperience in Biophysical Binding analysis methods (e.g., Biacore, LSA, Other SPR methods (e.g Proteon) BLI (Octet), KinExA, Fluorescence anisotropy, RIA, or Flow cytometry affinity focused on affinity determination)Solid understanding of protein biochemistry, binding affinity, thermodynamics, and antibody structure is preferred.Pharmaceutical experience with mass spectrometry characterization of antibodies is preferred
