The Heart Institute of Venice is a leading cardiology practice and primary care committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate APRN with a strong background in both cardiology and primary care to join our growing healthcare team.
Position Summary :
The APRN will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality clinical care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, as well as manage general primary care needs. The role involves patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, follow-ups, health promotion, and disease prevention.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
- Manage and coordinate care for patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, arrhythmia, heart failure, and coronary artery disease.
- Provide primary care services, including routine check-ups, preventive screenings, and management of chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disorders).
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and lab results, collaborating with cardiologists when necessary.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and other treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Educate patients and families about cardiovascular health, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
- Coordinate care with specialists, primary care providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Document all patient encounters, care plans, and follow-up recommendations in compliance with clinic standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical protocols.
Qualifications :
Masters or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN / DNP) from an accredited program.Current and valid APRN license in Florida.National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP).Minimum 23 years of clinical experience in cardiology and / primary care required.Strong knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, treatments, and preventive care strategies.Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative care team.Preferred Skills :
Experience in interpreting and managing results of advanced cardiac diagnostics.Prior experience in outpatient cardiology or cardiac specialty clinics.Familiarity with EMR / EHR systems.BLS / ACLS certification.What We Offer :
