Overview of the Accounts Payable Specialist Role :

Handle full-cycle accounts payable, including high-volume invoice processing, coding, and payment runs (checks, ACH, wires).

Verify purchase orders and match with invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Reconcile vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Support account management by tracking recurring charges, billing, and assisting with month-end close and reporting.

Preferred Qualification for the Accounts Payable Specialist :

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience also considered

Solid background in accounts payable or general accounting

Familiarity with full-cycle AP processes and vendor payment best practices

Experience using ERP systems like Great Plains (or similar) is a plus

Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs

Confident reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies

Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments and meeting deadlines
