This job provides security for patients, guests and employees as assigned; enforces company policies and procedures; and performs assigned duties that ensure the security of patients, guests, and employees in a courteous and professional manner. Certifications

Required - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (within 30 days from hire) Valid driver's license in the state of practice and clean DMV report Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (within 60 days from hire) International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion / hire

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
• Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individual.
• This position is considered Team A Essential Personnel and must report for duty in the event of a disaster.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Ability to continuously walk the company property including outside areas, interior areas, using stairwells in 11 floor plus structure.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule (e.g. 24 / 7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and / or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
