Pediatric - Nephrology Physician

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is looking for a board certified or eligible Pediatric Nephrologist with strong clinical and teaching skills to join our Division of Nephrology within the Department of Pediatrics. As the largest pediatric nephrology program in the state, we provide the most comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for children with all types of kidney disease. We have also expanded and enhanced the state s only dedicated multidisciplinary pediatric kidney transplant program and established an independent pediatric continuous renal replacement therapy program. Ideal candidates will be : Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Nephrology Committed to MUSC s educational and research missions, and to teaching our pediatric nephrology fellows, residents, and medical students About our opportunity : Provide comprehensive specialty care for patients on an inpatient and outpatient nephrology service including management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, renal replacement therapy (CRRT, PD, and HD), plasmapheresis, LDL-apheresis, and kidney transplantation. This 250-bed pediatric hospital is home to 89 NICU beds, 25 PICU beds, 36 mother / baby post-partum rooms, 7 couplet care rooms, a military grade helipad, 6 operating rooms, 4 procedures suites, a pediatric MRI scanner, the only comprehensive burn center in the state, and the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the state. MUSC Children s Hospital is the largest referral center in the region, made up of 31 pediatric subspecialties. The MUSC Children s R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion offers comprehensive specialty clinics, outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, infusion procedures, and support services such as lab and pharmacy, and urgent care in one convenient location. This medical pavilion has been designed exclusively for children and offers hassle-free parking, easy access from major roadways and convenient bus transit service. The Darby Children's Research Institute is the largest and most comprehensive pediatric research facility in the Carolinas. It is one of 15 buildings in the country dedicated to children's research.
