As a Security Guard - Retail Patrol Full-Time in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for guests and staff. Your visible presence and commitment to outstanding customer service will support a positive experience for everyone on site. Wed 03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM

Sat 03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM

Sun 03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a positive environment for all occupants.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and / or client representatives as required.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials as needed, and helping to maintain an orderly flow of people within the location.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by remaining alert to potential theft or policy violations and reporting observations promptly.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter unauthorized behavior and provide reassurance to clients and visitors.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • State, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • A security-related guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
