About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Profession : Nursing

Shift : 12 Hour Variable

Hours per Shift : 36

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience excluding travel experience preferred.

License : Current Registered Nurse license in the state.

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS required.

Must-Have :

Comfortable with sexual assault patient care and evidence collection.

Experience in triage assessment and critical thinking skills.

Ability to care for a diverse patient population.

Description :

Registered Nurse position in a fast-paced emergency department.

The unit sees between 150 to 180 patients daily.

The focus is on providing care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics.

Patients may present with minor to critical illnesses.

The environment includes heavy trauma cases.

Travelers will have responsibilities for trauma, stroke, and critical patient care.

Triage nursing skills are essential.

Patient ratios are 1 : 4-5 for RNs.

Support includes ED technicians and 24 / 7 physician coverage.

Charting is completed using an electronic system.

Floating to other inpatient areas may be required, within scope of practice.

Weekend shifts may be necessary based on staffing needs.

Holidays off will be considered based on staffing requirements.
