About The Team : We are looking for an accomplished Senior / Staff Software Engineer to join our Core Team and lead our Data Platform efforts.

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for designing our next generation Data Platform. In the short term, this means developing and executing a strategy to handle the imminent deprecation of Open Source Scylla.

People experienced with ScyllaDB, Cassandra, DataStax, Google Cloud BigTable, AWS Keyspaces and other column-family stores should strongly consider applying. ScyllaDB experience is not required, but experience with this class of database is.

Your longer term responsibilities will include bringing Postgres and ClickHouse into the new data platform and writing microservices in Rust.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute the vision for our next generation data platform, including the migration away from Scylla
• Conduct data analysis and performance monitoring to identify areas for optimization and enhancement
• Design and execute database optimizations to process terabytes of data
• Collaborate closely with fellow engineers to architect and implement services required to back OneSignals product offerings
• Actively participate in peer code reviews and Technical Design Spec reviews, providing valuable technical insights to continuously improve our code base
• Work with the team to efficiently resolve production issues and ensure the system scales smoothly to meet the growing demands of our customers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, incorporating new ideas into our engineering processes
• Build out logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure the health and performance of the data platforms

The New York and California base salary for this full time position is between $190,000 to $210,000. Your exact starting salary is determined by a number of factors such as your experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, we also offer a competitive equity program and comprehensive and inclusive benefits.
