Job Description

Position Title : VP, US Finance, US wholesale corporate accounting

Business Unit : TD Securities

Division / Region : TD Securities USA (New York)

Report Location : New York Office

TD Securities is seeking a highly skilled and technology‑proficient Vice President to join its US Wholesale Controllers group within US Finance in New York City. This role reports directly to the Director, Finance. The successful candidate will manage the preparation and consolidation of the monthly close, review entries and reconciliations for broker‑dealer and non‑broker‑dealer entities, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly consolidation, including elimination entries, equity rolls, and all aspects of US and Non‑US financial reporting.
  • Review and analyze documentation of monthly accounting entries in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Assist with external and internal audit requests, including reconciliations, document organization, and inquiry responses.
  • Improve data accuracy and support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and keep process documentation current.
  • Perform special projects and ad‑hoc management reporting as required.
  • Support strategic and tactical projects, including planning and implementing upgraded sub‑ledger systems.
  • Assist in new product implementation and entity rationalization.
  • Maintain sub‑ledger to general ledger mapping logic; liaise with Product Control and Operations for testing and application.
  • Manage chart of accounts and mapping.
  • Prepare and assist with quarterly / annual disclosures and other reporting obligations under US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Ensure adherence to account reconciliation and attestation policies; liaise with Operations & Reconciliation Control teams to resolve issues.
  • Organize and support finance remediation projects for continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s a plus); CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • 8+ years post‑undergraduate experience in public accounting and / or financial services.
  • Big‑4 public accounting experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, US GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes‑Oxley controls and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and automation tools (Power BI, Alteryx, Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.

  • Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree and / or relevant professional designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience preferred.
