Full-Time | Medical Records Clerk | Shallotte, North Carolina

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Clerk / Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of our medical office, ensuring efficient patient service and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires strong communication skills, a good understanding of medical terminology, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling and appointments efficiently
 - Responsible for patient check-in , greeting each patient in a pleasant and professional manner
 - Track patients in the reception area and communicate with them as needed
 - Mark arrival times and ensure patients are seen promptly
 - Answer and manage incoming telephone calls
 - Verify insurance information and assist with claims processing
 - Evaluate chart data to ensure all forms and signatures are complete
 - Scan patient insurance cards and collect copayments
 - Enter all new patient demographic information into the system
 - Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
 - Provide clerical support including filing, data entry, and phone management
 - Assist patients with inquiries and provide outstanding customer service
 - Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure seamless office operations
 - Utilize EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks , or similar platforms
 
Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a medical office, clinic, or health system preferredProficient in EHR / EMR systems and medical record managementKnowledge of medical billing, collection processes, and insurance verificationStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency required)Excellent phone etiquette and verbal communicationBilingual abilities a plusAbility to manage multiple tasks efficiently with strong attention to detailFriendly, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environmentCompensation & Benefits
