Analyst Budget System

Job Opening Summary

Manages installation, upgrades, maintenance, enhancements and cross system interfacing to databases and financial software systems to/from the financial reporting/budget system to ensure proper reporting and modeling of data. Leads optimization of budget system by way of improving dimension setup, evaluating opportunities, and leading system module implementation projects. Serves as budget system administrator to include security, creation of reports and maintenance of system. Operates as liaison between the Managerial Accounting, Finance, Operations, Information Services divisions and relevant vendors. Provides advanced reporting, analysis, and querying of data. Maintains the Financial Services website. Provides high level support to the department director (Director Financial Analysis & Cost Accounting).

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration

Necessary Skills:
1. Good decision-making skills; problem solving and analytical skills; and experience with database management, technical report writing, strong Microsoft Office experience including Excel, Power Query, PowerPoint
2. Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills
3. Must be familiar with accounting and financial procedures and be able to work independently without close supervision
4. Training/Presentations and extensive customer interactions are required
5. Work with software on a Microsoft SQL database or similar platform managing and maintaining databases, technical experience including knowledge of computer processes and Adobe Acrobat writer

Required Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience with financial analysis, budgeting/benchmarking/cost accounting, accounting or financial planning functions, with working knowledge of hospital financial environment and information technology.

Preferred Experience:
Working knowledge of Peoplesoft® financial and human resources systems and hospital data warehouse tables to accommodate interaction between systems preferred.
