Business Office / AR2 / Medicaid Specialist
40 hour position
The position is responsible to support the Business Office in processing Medicaid Pending Applications, Applied Income discrepancies and Back Up to Resident Trust
Recommended Minimum Position Qualifications
1 year experience in LTC Medicaid
1-3 years of billing and collections in a long term care setting or other healthcare environment
The ability to handle multiple priorities and possess strong communication skills.
Excellent organization skills
General Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Pending, Applied Income and Managed Care billing
Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Electronic Claim Submission, and Billing Software programs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process and assist with processing of Medicaid applications
Collect Applied Income and Private Balances including advanced monthly billing and follow up
Resolve discrepancies in Applied Income
Scanning of all Medicaid documents in PCC
Attend weekly AR meeting with Administrator to review cases
Prepare and post daily deposits for Resident Trust Account
Attend 72 hour meetings to go over requirements of applied income and Medicaid for any resident admitted (ie : offer QMB or LTC when applicable)
Managed Care Claims ( follow up; appeals etc to ensure payment)
Managed Care Copay billing to private, insurance and Medicaid
Other duties as directed by Business Office Manager
Our candidate should be a team player to work with the Business Office Manager and other facility team members to ensure the facility is successful in AR collections

What You'll Bring :
Qualifications of a Medicaid Specialist include :
1 year processing Medicaid applications and billing in a Long-Term Care setting
Familiarity with healthcare billing practices, regulations, and relevant software applications (e.g. billing systems, electronic medical records)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in using office equipment and computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
Deadline driven, detail-oriented individual able to handle multiple priorities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
