Daikin Applied is seeking an Electrical Engineer who will who will research and develop functional specifications, technical designs, and support for the power system, transformers, VFDs and motors within the Daikin chiller products. Location : In office - Staunton, VA.
What you will do :
- Prepare specifications for power electronic equipment
- Prepare test and qualification plans for power electrical equipment
- Review test data from power electrical equipment to evaluate suitability and performance
- Support cross-functional meetings to review project progress
- Support corrective actions to solve quality problems
- Support activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operation testing conform to UL safety certifications
- Design power systems to include : electrical motors, electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial uses
- Design test control apparatus and equipment, and determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products
- Support activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and simulation to perform engineering tasks

BS in Electrical Engineering (or related) from a 4-year college or university0-3 years of power electronic experience required in power design systemUnderstanding of electrical motors and startersKnowledge or experience with some of the following electrical power components (variable frequency drives, induction motors, permanent magnet motors, power transformers)Ability to synthesize complex or diverse informationAbility to generate creative solutions and use feedback to modify designs. Demonstrates attention to detailWork authorization is not available for this role.The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $68,900 - $86,200 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
