Security Assistant
Cimarron is seeking a Security Assistant to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area.
Key Duties :
- Provide security support to the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program.
- Receive and process incoming and outgoing visitor access requests.
- Assist with access control for designated areas.
- Serve as the alternate block captain, ensuring workforce safety, reporting hazards, and assisting with evacuations.
- Ensure timely incident reporting, including initial, follow-up, and final reports during investigations.
- Conduct INFOSEC self-inspections and participate in INFOSEC reviews.
- Attend quarterly security manager meetings.
- Assist in writing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect process or procedural changes.
- Participate in weekly team meetings.
- Assist with the management of security documents and databases.
- Report suspected compromises or losses of classified information to the Facility Security Manager.
- Support daily security operations, mission functions, instructor-led training, and event coordination.
- Prepare and deliver security briefings as needed.
- Provide comprehensive support to the MDA / GM Security Manager and Facility Security Manager, including GSA safe assignments.
- Support additional duties as assigned by the Facility Security Manager.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :

Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID.Active Secret Clearance (or higher).3 or more years of experience in a DoD environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience using the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).Knowledge and understanding of DoDM 5200.1.Experience working in a classified environment.Experience safeguarding classified materials.Familiarity with CFR 32 Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).Understanding of classified document markings.Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Skilled in creating and following standard processes and documenting results.Self-starter able to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and escalate them to the Facility Security Manager.Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Demonstrated commitment to customer service with a positive attitude.Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.Desired Skills, Experience, and Education :
Completion of the FSO Curriculum for Possessing Facilities through CDSE.Previous security experience within or supporting DoD programs.Business Profile :
